Know Your Constitution

1. The Constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into force on 26th January, 1950.
2. The constitution took almost three years to be written completely.
3. The draft of our Constitution was prepared by a committee called the Drafting Committee.
4. The chairman of the Drafting Committee was Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. 
5. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is known as the father of Indian Constitution.
6. Nandlal Bose decorated the pages of our Constitution with beautiful pictures of Maharani Laxmi Bai, Tipu Sultan, Guru Gobind Singh, Shivaji, Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose and many others. 
7. Prem Behari Narain Raizada was the calligrapher of the Indian Constitution. 
8. The original manuscript of our Constitution had two copies each written in Hindi and English. 
9. The original copies of our Constitution are kept in special helium-filled cases in the Library of the Parliament of India.
